MyBlackBerry Feature Requests

I thought I'd follow Kyle's lead and start a thread for things we'd like to see on MyBB! This is what set my mind in motion:

-- I like that you can set a profile photo, and choose between different avatars, but initially I didn't know the difference; I was frustrated that my intended image wasn't showing up, beaten out instead by a greyed-out silhouette. SO, maybe when adding a profile photo, there should be a link right beside saying 'make this your avatar?' or a clearer indication that your profile image will not be your avatar unless you so choose.

I'm sure I'll think of more, but that's it for now. Post your feature requests (lasers, perhaps?)!

These requests are all about friends!!

-- Users should be able to request a friend with one click from any MyBB thread, by hitting a link below the poster's name. I don't like having to go into the user's profile to do this.

-- When I'm viewing another person's profile, however, there are some things I want to see. Such as: any mutual friends, with links to their profiles (like on FaceBook), and a list of all their friends (like on FaceBook). Right now, their profile only tells me how many friends they have, not who they are, or if they're my friends too!

When you have a friend request, or message, or something along those lines, I'd like that to be reflected somewhere on the front page with one-click access to it rather than having to enter My Profile... Unless that's already there and I somehow missed it.

It might also be good to have a PM option under anyone's profile in any thread.

I like the way Vberry thinks!!

Sticking on the messaging front... What are the difference between private messages and emails? I'm assuming PM's stick within MyBB, and emails go to you personal addy you set up your account with. Clarity on this issue would be nice.

ALSO,

Some formatting to the emails sent via MyBB would be good.

ALSO,

I like how you have the option of choosing from an address book (which I assume you import from your BB!) when you send PMs, but why doesn't it automatically display all your MyBB friends?

Anyone have thoughts/answers?

Hmmm,

I see that the address book' is for MyBB usernames, and requires you to manually input people. Woah!

1. Friends' usernames should automatically be placed in the address book.

2. There should be some way to sync contacts from your BB (or upload a .csv file) and add anyone that may have an account on MyBB!

Also, I noticed in the 'Friends' tab under 'My Profile' that there's an option to email someone, but not PM them...

Hi,

I tried to quote your message about the contacts, but I can't get the function to work.

If you go to your profile and select invite friends, it comes up with a form e-mail.

On the top is an Import Contacts function. Have you looked at that?

When you receive an email, saying someone has been approved to be your friend, please include the my.blackberry.com address in the body of the email.

All it says is, "soandso is now your friend", so it could be confused to some peeps.

It's not really a feature but something to look into. If you type myblackberry.com in your web browser you're led to the BIS setup portal. Not that big of a deal, but it'll confuse people (especially those who aren't in the know of all things BlackBerry and RIM).

Any chance of seeing a mobile site (BB friendly and any other mobile platform) for MyBlackBerry?

What about a MYBB app?? Something kinda like Facebook where you can receive notifications on things instead of having it come to your email address. I hate having to log in to the mobile site from the phone I hope they make a direct app for it.

I would like to see discussion topics linked to each app and accessory, not just comments but a full thread. if this site is to be a primaraly sales site hich is what it feels like, that would be something different that i would like

I couldn't agree more with John Hodges. A MYBB app would be very helpful. If thats a pain in the butt than a mobile-friendly mybb site should be made.
