New updates for the MyBlackBerry community

We’ve done a few more updates and I would love to hear what you think:
1) Share This – If you look to the left of the search box you’ll see the button to allow you to share things from within the site on your favorite networks!
2) New banner – Not that this is huge functionality but it’s showcasing the new BlackBerry Love campaign. I love that it adds a splash of colour to the site.
3) Drop down menu – If you hover your mouse over the ‘Create Discussion’ button you get a drop down menu to select which section you want to be in

As always, would love to hear your thoughts.

Hey Becky,

I love the updates that the site has been going through! I just wanted to suggest a few thing!

The 5 tabs at the top of the site could also have a drop down menu (except the "Home") just to add an ease of navigation to the site.
Also when you are on the site but not logged in have the "Log In" link br more pronounced. It right now seems like a very small font and doesn't really stand out to someone who hasn't been to the site before.
I'm not entirely sure how this would work, but having the ability to log in with our facebook! I know alot of sites are starting to incorporate facebook integration (i.e. Twitter and Billboard). This may also help since there is a facebook app with MyBlackBerry.
The MyBlackBerry News box should only be the news that you or other RIM employees post, and an additional box Community News could be added showing what the others are posting in the discussion areas. With the community box adding 5 posts over the 3 used know in the MyBlackBerry News section would be better to show a more diverse selection of discussions.

Overall the site is always moving forward!! I love it...

Nice changes. Except the change you made at the top-right. Cropping off the MyBlackberry image. I could only see 'MyBlackBerr'. Y is cropped out

Glad to hear great feedback. We're still looking at the big picture so I will take your comments to the dev team (I say that a lot, don't I?). As for comment number 4, that News Box is only stuff that I post. The reason you see other people's names is when someone replies. It will take the last post, even if I start all of the discussions.

And, yep @Shazoor, "Horray" is when that person is your friend. We're friends! Horray!

When I reply, I don't get the full menu box that I used to. I don't get the bold, italic, etc.. choices. If there something that changed or am I going crazy?

We're making a change to the discussion boards so that they're more usable. This is step one. The end product will be much better. Hang in there!

We're just gathering all the right content for Bold 9700 and once that's done, we'll be adding it to the list.
